I am an artist based in Leeds and from Sunderland working across sculpture, writing, installation, drawing and animation. Central to my practice is using these forms to record lesser heard voices; stories that would otherwise be lost or overlooked, as well as exploring where I fit in the working-class, feminist and artistic lineages where I see myself existing. Labour, authenticity, inherited ancestral wisdom and the everyday fantastic are some of the themes that have recurred in my work.
I am interested in creating and exploring tensions between the ambiguous visual language of sculpture and the direct nature of spoken and written language.
